A new Look
A new Name
A new Future
We’re proud to unveil the new look and feel of Avant Media. With new artists, exciting new works, and our first album release, we’re building the foundation of a more dynamic Avant Media focused on collaborative artistic expression in all its forms.
Take a look around, there’s a lot here. Let us know if you find anything that doesn’t work, or doesn’t look right. While you’re here, you can become a fan of Avant Media on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.
We look forward to hearing from you.

The last couple of weeks avantmedia.org has been experiencing some random, sporadic, and (luckily) short-lived server outages.
We still don’t have a definite fix for this, but we are in contact with our hosting service to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.
Hopefully the outage this morning will prove to have been the last, but this seems unlikely. If you visit the site and get a 403 forbidden, please try back in 20 to 30 minutes.

I love this time of year.
Today was the first day that I really started to feel like Fall was upon us. I’m in very serious planning mode these days with a major redesign of this website, a couple of huge audition/application-based opportunities coming up, grant applications, and searching for space for a spring show focusing on text-based work, all on my plate. I have barely had time to be outside at all.
I went to meet Jo today to talk about fundraising, and as I walked up the street ran into a friend of mine who moved to NY right around the same time I did, and who I haven’t seen in probably six years. (more…)

I’m a couple clock ticks away from shipping off to MA to help out composer Nick Brooke during his Workshop Residency at Mass MoCA. I’ll write more about Nick, his amazing work, and all that other jazz during the residency, but I noticed today Time and Motion Study made it to the front page of the Mass MoCA website. Check out the perma-link to the show page:

I expect to see everyone in MA on Sept. 27th

With the start of the 2008-2009 season upon us, many changes are in the works for Avant Media Performance.
Dani Beauchamp and Mike Rugnetta will now officially join Avant Media as Principal Artists. Their talents and creativity are a welcome addition to the core of artists leading the direction Avant Media will be taking in the coming years.
As a part of this new direction, the Principal Artists of the company: Ana, Dani, Mike and myself; will be sharing our experiences, thoughts, ideas, and whatever else strikes our fancy here, in what will become a regularly updated Journal of the activities of Avant Media Performance and its artists. (more…)
