An evening of dance, music, and film created by Avant Media artists.
Anchored by the namesake work by choreographer Dani Beauchamp and composer Randy Gibson, Mémoire-en-Ciel presents a collection of multidisciplinary collaborative performances that explore the nature of memory itself.
The seven short movements of Mémoire-en-Ciel close the evening with Beauchamp’s stunning exploration of psychological references of color, communal memories, and simple beautiful gestures set to Gibson’s evocative score and awash in the immersive lighting designed by Heather Libonati.
Performances will also include a new work created by Ana Baer-Carrillo and Caren McCaleb and a revival of the collaboration between Baer-Carrillo and Gibson: Mujeres de Juárez.
The music for Mujeres de Juárez was recently released on Gibson’s solo album, Voices + Sine Waves, and this new presentation of the work will feature remastered audio and reworked video in a whole new vision of the work reflecting the continuing turmoil in the border town of Juárez, Mexico.
